British Yeast Group Meeting 2015

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."

Benjamin Franklin

10 Brave students embraced the chance to give their first ever talk during the Carl Singer Foundation Session at BYG in Manchester. Each presenter had a 'miscellaneous action' and a 'miscellaneous phrase' to 'hide' in their presentation!

A huge well done to Shaun Speldewinde and Yu Zhou (who missed the presentation and received the news in the loo!), both of whom narrowly missed out on winning best talk.

Congratulations to Mariavittoria Pizzinga for her seamless winning integration of Bon Jovi's Livin' On a Prayer during her talk on mRNA localisation! Watch the montage of challenges below.

Mariavittoria's full talk can be viewed here:

And here's a picture of Mariavittoria receivng the coveted award! CONGRATULATIONS!

Huge thanks as usual to The Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers (SIM) for supporting the event.
